Only a few movies as a child are considered memorable. Usually, the heartwarming story and epic soundtrack are the reasons why these movies are hard to forget. To our delight, one of the most iconic childhood movies is returning to the cinemas this July to rule the African savanna. There’s no better way to celebrate the comeback with lion king-themed cakes and cupcakes. But before the desserts, let us have a rundown of the things you should know about Lion King 2019

Major Lion King Characters

The movie will not be considered one of the greatest without the presence of its notable characters. Each one brings a different flavour, making Lion King one of the most iconic animated musical movies to date.

Simba - the protagonist of the movie who is the hunt to claim the royal crown.

Mufasa - Simba’s powerful father and wife of Sarabi

Nala - Simba’s childhood friend who eventually became her wife.

Sarabi - Simba’s affectionate and supportive mother

Scar - the main antagonist of the movie who happens to be Simba’s rival to take over the kingdom

Azzi, Shenzi and Kamari - the three hyenas who helped Scar execute all his evil plans just to be the King of the Pridelands.

Zazu - the hornbill who is famous for overseeing the young Simba

Pumbaa - the warthog who is always seen with his best friend, Timon

Timon - the meerkat knowns for having so much energy and good-natured jokes against his best friend, Pumbaa

When did the Lion King Come Out?

Because it has been part of our childhood across various generations, Lion King first came out 25 years ago. Since then, it has touched the lives of a lot of people, carrying all those pleasant memories with them while watching the movies as they grow up. Two decades later, we are in store for what could be its best installment, a theatrical animated version sure to make a lot of the fans excited.
